Abstract
This research study intends to clarify the true meaning of diversity and the importance it has in the workplace. Many assimilate the word “diversity” only with race, gender, and age. Diversity encompasses much more than that. As evidenced by existing research, there is a lot of misunderstanding and misinformation about what diversity is, and why leaders should embrace a diverse and inclusive workplace. This research study will review seven different themes to help leaders make more sense of what diversity is, how they impact it, how it impacts them, and what is the overall impact to teams and business.
