    Abstract
The purpose of this project is to identify strategies for leaders to change a toxic organizational culture. While there have been research conducted on how to identify toxic behaviors in an organization, a lack of research has been conducted on using a change model plan to implement the necessary changes needed to turn a negative culture around. Three case studies were analyzed for areas that are crucial for a leader to understand and strategies needed to implement change. This paper focuses on behaviors that cause toxic culture, leadership styles that encourage change and an action plan that uses John Kotter’s eight step change model. The information provided in this paper will help any leader begin the process of change within any organizational culture that is toxic.
