An increase in guests to our home and the possibility of parents having to one day live with us caused my wife and I to consider constructing a separate living quarters on our property, adjacent to our own house. The intent of this project was to build a detached residence on our existing property in order to provide additional living space for visiting family or temporary residents. The living quarters will provide the same living conditions as the main residence but on a smaller scale, to include a small kitchen with appliances and half-bathroom. The total living area will be 600 square feet. Running water, electricity, and central air will all be included with the final product.
