Martial arts schools and other athletic-focused businesses often face a problem managing curricula. Most schools are owned and managed by instructors who are talented athletes and teachers but who lack experience in developing course curricula. As a school grows it becomes more and more difficult to create structured lesson plans that meet the needs of an increasingly diverse group of students. This leads to “staleness” of lessons and often to frustration for both the instructor and the students. The end result is often a drop in student enrollment and an attendant loss in revenues. This capstone is a feasibility study to examine the demand for an online application to solve this problem that concludes with a go/no-go decision to develop and implement the application.
