As companies progress through the Digital Era, there has been a shift in leadership models as organizations are moving towards a collective approach. However, little is known about the impact on the individual and their ability to grow their leadership skillset in this environment. Utilizing John Zenger and Joseph Folkman’s 16 Leadership Competencies, existing research regarding Collective Leadership models will be analyzed to identify learning processes and individual leadership competencies attained. As a result, reoccurring themes, most common competencies, and suggestions for future research on an individual’s participation in Collective Leadership are discussed.
