| dc.description | This project will create a partnership between two programs, SNHU Center for New Americans and Amoskeag Community Health to create a behavioral health program for refugee children in the Manchester, NH area. This population has faced traumatic events that have caused barriers to learning English, acclimating to life in the US, and other mental health issues. Research shows that a behavioral health program helps these children acclimate better to resettlement in the US. The project was based on a needs assessment conducted as part of a Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) model for improvement. The partnership will bring about a behavioral health program for over 200 children that aim to provide a safe space for refugee children to open up about the experiences they have endured. | |
